Thermoelectrically Powered Sensing For Nuclear Power Plants

SMR reactor

Every year loss of power in a nuclear power plant results in loss of critical plant information from sensing systems.
The gole of this project is to develop robust thermoelectric-based sensing and actuation for nuclear plant monitoring during off-normal conditions.

Theory: ThermoElectric Generators(TEGs)

•Use a temperature gradients  to generate electric power.
•Integrated onto high temperature components.
•Reliable and scalable.
•Environmentally friendly.
